Stanley Gantcher came to America chasing the same dream so many families do, the chance to build something of his own, and to build it well. In 1996, he founded American Design Inc., a window-coverings company grounded in a simple belief: treat every customer’s home like your own, and never cut a corner you wouldn’t accept yourself.
That belief built a business. Over three decades, Stanley and his family measured, crafted, and installed window coverings in an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 homes across the Houston area. What started small grew into a trusted name, one built not on advertising, but on doing right by people, one window at a time.

As the company’s reputation grew, so did the scale of the work. American Design Inc. earned builder accounts with some of the biggest names in new-home construction, including KB Home, Pulte Homes, Ryland Homes, outfitting brand-new Houston homes with quality window coverings from day one. That builder experience still shapes how we work today, and it’s why new construction remains one of the things we do best.
Why we’re now Stanly Blinds
Stanley passed away in 2023. He left behind more than a business, he left a standard, a family, and a legacy of thousands of Houston homes made a little more comfortable and a little more beautiful by his work.
We rebranded the company as Stanly Blinds in his honor. The name is a daily reminder of the man who started it all and the values he built it on: quality, honesty, and treating every family the way he’d want his own to be treated. When you invite us into your home, you’re not just hiring an installer, you’re continuing a story Stanley began, and we take that seriously.
